Anders dan zijn collega's, begon Tommie pas laat met muziekstudie. Daarbij kwam hij evenmin uit een muzikaal/intellectueel en cultureel nest maar het talent kwam uiteindelijk dan toch bovendrijven. Op zijn veertiende begonnen, kreeg hij al snel aandacht van zijn omgeving. Hij kwam in contact met de bekende Nederlandse pianist Marinus Flipse die hem in zeer korte tijd klaarstoomde voor het conservatorium. Na zijn klassieke opleiding bij István Hajdu en Luba Edlina Dubinski aan het Rotterdams Conservatorium bleek het ondoenlijk een carrière als concertpianist te beginnen, de achterstand ten opzichte van de moordende concurentie is door het verleden dan niet meer in te halen. Bovendien leidden andere zaken hem te veel af en ontplooide Tommie zich als een creatief talent. Hij studeerde ook zang en schreef cabaretliedjes.

Na militaire dienst werkte hij twee decennia full-time op de dansafdeling van dezelfde school als pianist. Daar ontwikkelde hij zich tot specialist in het ondersteunen van moderne dans en dansexpressie. Juist die creatieviteitswens kon hij daar ontplooien en hij bereikte daarin een absoluut hoogtepunt als "instant-composer" en was een veelgevraagd begeleider bij diverse dansgroepen. In zijn loopbaan ontmoette hij zo’n 100 dansdocenten uit de hele wereld waaronder de grondleggers van Het Nederlands Danstheater.

De bezuinigingsgekte in de 90er jaren bracht hem in conflict met zijn werkgever. Toen dit uit de hand liep en tot ontslag leidde begon een periode van reizen en bezinning en is hij daaropvolgend een nieuwe studie begonnen. Hij trok zich terug op de Vaalserberg in de natuurschone omgeving van het Zuid-Limburgse. Het repertoire moest drastisch worden uitgebreid met voornamelijk lichte muziek om het gehele palet met muzikale mogelijkheden te voltooien. Resultaat is dat zich nu een musicus heeft ontwikkeld met een zo merkwaardig verleden dat dit ook  logischerwijs zijn beslag krijgt in de samenstelling van zijn repertoire en zijn manier van spelen. Vandaar ook dat in zijn concerten - klassiek – jazz - psychedelische klankimprovisaties (waaronder minimal music) - popballads en evergreens - zich voortdurend ineenstrengelen in muzikale compilaties die opvallen door hun verrassende wendingen. “is dit Satie” vraagt veelal iemand uit het publiek en Tommie antwoordt dan: “nee, dat ben ik…!”

Matinees / soirées authentique

Tommie heeft een omvangrijk reperoire als pianist/zanger, beheerst het oude ambacht en gebruikt geen digitale middelen om te musiceren zoals synthesizers en ritmeboxen, iets wat je tegenwoordig nog maar zelden ziet - zijn performances boemt hij: "matinee / soiree authentique"

Nach seiner klassischen Ausbildung am Hochschule für Musik Rotterdam, arbeitete er zwei Jahrzehnten in der Tanz-Abteilung als Pianist.
Dort wurde er Spezialist für die Unterstützung des modernen Tanzes und Ausdruckstanz.
Erfolgreich als "Instant-Komponist" war er oft bei verschiedenen Tanzgruppen eingeladen. Im Laufe seiner Karriere traf er auf rund 100 Tanz-Lehrer aus der ganzen Welt, einschließlich viele Gründer des Nederlands Dans Theater.

Mit einem sabathical begann einen Zeitraum als Weltbummler, und er begann danach eine ganz neue Studie. Er zog auf die Vaalserberg in der natürlichen Umgebung des südlichen Limburg. Das Repertoire wurde drastisch verbessert, vor allem mit populäre Musik hinzugefügt, für die komplettierung des ganze Palette von Optionen. Daher ist bei ihrer Tätigkeit - Classic - Jazz - Pop-balladen - Improvisation in psychedelischen Klange - Minimal Musik und Evergreens - ständig ineinander im musikalischen Zusammenstellungen, dass sich durch ihre überraschenden Wendungen. Oft ruft jemand aus dem Publikum "Dies ist Satie" und dann antwortet Tommie: "Nein, das bin ich ...!"

A diferencia de sus colegas, Tommie tarde comenzó con la música de estudio. Esto lo hace en un musical / talento intelectual y cultural del nido, pero todavía es, en última instancia. En su decimocuarta comenzado, pronto obtuvo la atención de su entorno El vino en contacto con el famoso pianista neerlandés Marinus Flipse él en muy poco tiempo al vapor para el conservatorio.

Después de su formación clásica, István Hajdu y Luba Edlina Dubinski en el Conservatorio de Rotterdam, parece imposible una carrera de concertista de piano para iniciar, a ponerse al día con la feroz competencia por el pasado ya no ponerse al día. En su carrera se reunió alrededor de 100 profesores de baile de todo el mundo, incluyendo la fundación de los Países Bajos Dance Theater

La locura de los ahorros en el 90er año lo puso en conflicto con su empleador. Cuando este se quedó sin control y dio lugar al despido comenzó un período de reflexión y los viajes y el siguiente es un nuevo estudio.

Retiró la Vaalserberg en el entorno natural del sur de Limburg. El repertorio fue drásticamente mejorada con luz principalmente música para toda la gama de posibilidades musicales para completar.

El resultado es que un músico ha desarrollado una notable trayectoria que este es, lógicamente, que deben alcanzarse en la composición de su repertorio y su manera de jugar.

De ahí que, en sus conciertos - clásico - jazz - improvisaciones psicodélicas sonido (incluyendo música mínimo) - popballads y evergreens - se entrelazan constantemente en las compilaciones musicales que sobresalen por sus giros sorprendentes. "Se trata de Satie" a menudo pide a alguien de la audiencia y, a continuación, Tommie respondió: "No, soy yo ...!"

ALEATORIC is simultaneously composed and played (recorded) - Like all good music
further explanation is not needed, just listen and enjoy.... A new concept however could use
an introduction... an invitation...

My piano improvising skills were developed during my 18 years of accompanying
professional modern dancers. Doing so, supporting expressionist dance routines, there is
always the choreographers input - a structure is given, a measure, tempo, rhythm and a
certain atmosphere is asked, a quality... A difficult task to fulfill, all elements can vary
during the routine, sometimes even unexpected and therefor it is at all times impossible to
use already composed music. The accompanying musician (pianist or percussionist) should
create and perform spontaneously, we call that - Instant Composing -

Being a widely experienced musician there was the challenge to do the same thing
“without” dancers, meaning “without the choreographers input”. Which means that the input
of previous mentioned elements should come from elsewhere - but from where?

To create music in this manner one needs lot of fantasy, instinct and a meditative state of
mind, just concentrating won't do! With a painters pallet full of possibilities to improvise in
numerous styles, probably a few hundred from baroque to minimal music, it still is a
concept that does not necessary will lead to good results. But experience does, and that's
what I have. During the years “everything” was asked - Medieval scales combined with 21^th
century minimal, and impressionistic sounds in jazzy rhythms and always a Satie like
aleatoric serenity to combine the parts together.

A positive element is the lack of any friction between composer and interpreter as they are
the same person at the same time. Therefore the result sounds very natural and pure with a
spiritual touch. There was only a tiny bit of after editing needed which is a delicate matter
because structures should not be disturbed and melodic lines have to be worshiped.
